The Eire Empire

Before the Empire

As planet-bound civilization was collapsing, Earth sent out hundreds of colony ships to spread humanity to the Galaxy. Isolated and alone, each colony was left to fend for itself, terraforming the worlds they found as best they could.

In Sol, Earth collapsed, and the remaining humans in the solar system were left to scratch out whatever living they could in orbital habitats and hollowed out asteroids throughout the system

The Founding

Hundreds of years after the fall, Adele Eire was born on a habitat orbiting in the distant reaches of Sol. She would unite the remnants of humanity there into a single nation again, bringing together hundreds of individually governed habitats. Her dream was to re-discover the lost arts of Terraforming, and reclaim Earth.

The families that supported her most directly became the first Noble houses.

The Conquest

Adele's granddaughter, Taoiseach Venus, oversaw the discovery of faster than light travel. Armed with this advantage, Terrans set out to reclaim the lost colonies of Earth, and bring them back into the fold. The closest worlds came willingly, but eventually it became a bloody conquest.

The Empire's Military

The SpaceGuard

The SpaceGuard is the externally facing arm of the Eire Empire's military, tasked with conquering, quelling, and administering the colonies. It is divided into two branches, the Guard which operates on planets and the Space branch, which flies starships and operates the military estates maintained in the colonies.

The Guard Branch

Packs of Guards are stationed on nearly every planet in the Empire, and on ships that rove where needed between planets. The bulk of the force is made up of common Terrans, usually foot soldiers in the form of Dogs or Jackals. Other roles are more specialized, Foxes provide forward scouting, Coyotes provide heavy weapons, and the Elite of the force, Wolves, take hard targets by dropping behind enemy lines.

Nobles oversee several packs organized into flocks and wings. Most lower ranked Nobel Guards are embedded with the forces they serve, and the higher ranks administer important planets and stations across the Empire.

The Space Branch

Fish of the Space branch serve on every starship in the Empire, both SpaceGuard cruisers and liners that are leased from the Taoiseach for use by the houses. Common Terrans can serve in a variety of technical roles, from Traffic Control to drive maintainence.

Nobles in the Space Branch serve as important department heads on Cruisers, oversee yards and other important orbital installations in the colonies.
